Our class worked on a PBL called the "Giving Back Project" part 1. Our science unit in regards to matter was incorporated. The first thing we did was to follow a recipe to make chocolate chip cookies. Each student was able to measure one of the ingredients (solid and liquid) that the recipe called for, then we froze the dough on Tuesday. The dough (solid state) was taken out of the freezer on Wednesday to thaw out. On Thursday, each student was able to scoop of dough onto the cookie sheet. After we finished our class proceeded to the cafeteria where we were greeted by our wonderful cafeteria staff. The ladies talked to the kids about temperature and how long the cookies would take to be done. On Friday, all of first graders arrived to "Country Life" to bare gifts of cookies. They were happy to see us. October 27th thru 30th
